Resistance Thermometers (RTD’s)

Resistance thermometers with Pt100/Pt1000 resistance

Resistance thermometers are equipped with platinum sensor elements which change their electrical resistance as a function of temperature. In our range of products you will find resistance thermometers with connected cable as well as versions with connection head. A temperature transmitter can be installed directly in the connection head. Resistance thermometers are suitable for applications between -200 ... +600 °C (-328 °F … 1,112 °F) (dependent on instrument model, sensor element, accuracy class and materials coming into contact with the medium).
Accuracy classes AA, A and B apply to all resistance thermometers. They are available with a tolerance value to IEC 60751.

FAQ

What are 2-, 3- and 4-wire circuits?

This describes the number of wires connected to a Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) (e.g. a Pt100). With a simple 2-wire connection, the lead resistance can influence the measurement value, the lead resistance  can be compensated with a 3- or 4-wire l ... More

How is the accuracy class calculated?

Per DIN EN 60751 Point 5.1.3 Table 3 in °C

Class AA ± (0,1+0,0017 * t)
Class A ± (0,15+0,002 * t)
Class B ± (0,3+0,005 * t)
Class C ± (0,6+0,01 * t)
